© Régis RoccaGraphiste and artistic director by trade, aviation enthusiast since childhood, it is by coincidence and opportunities that I have been asked to produce a model for the graphics of the Mirage 2000 "Tiger" participating in NATO Tiger Meet 2010 at Volkel (Netherlands).

With a starting point, a brief received from the Commander of 1 / 12 and a graphic produced by the Officer Tradition, my mission was to create a strong and coherent design, with imagery developed by the squadron for that fiscal year so special.

To give an effective perspective, I chose to position the legs and claws of the tiger on the upper surface of the delta wing. The claws voluntarily turned in the direction of the nose as if to seize the unfortunate who end up with the Mirage on its 6 o'clock.

The side views can be aware of the symmetrical positioning of the head of a tiger, identical to that which was held on the backs of flying-the drift of the camera so as not to create differences that are addresses the Mirage from the left or right. All set in a tribal pattern that follows the angle of drift and binds the various elements of the composition.

Once past my surprise, I consider these additions as to give some "soul" to the Tiger aircraft. Because before being a pure object graph and aesthetics as seen now, the spirit of the paintings is something more "artisanal" and "hand-made", as can be seen in the first models in the 70's.

Second prize for "best plane" at Volkel (only beaten by the pair of Turkish F-16s), I really enjoyed designing this pattern. Taking an exercise where the design has to serve a state of mind outside the norm, where you have to show his skills as well as we evolve in an environment highly codified. The dream to combine her professional training and one of his passions.
